spews.dnsbl.net.au

Spam Prevention Early Warning System

NOTE: 28 August 2003.
Prior to today, the spews database was included in the t1.dnsbl.net.au aggregate zone. After suggestions from subscribers, I have decided to only include 'safe' data in the t1 aggregate zone. This means that the spews data, is no longer included in the t1 aggregate zone. If you want to use this spews zone, at spews.dnsbl.net.au, in the same way as before, then you will need two entries now, rather than one. t1.dnsbl.net.au and spews.dnsbl.net.au. This will also help us keep the load down on our bandwidth, databases, and servers. Please see the t1 summary page for more details.

SPEWS is a list of areas on the Internet which several system administrators, ISP postmasters, and other service providers have assembled and use to deny email and in some cases, all network traffic from.

Networks and hosts which are listed on the SPEWS database are contained within the spews.dnsbl.net.au DNSbl zone.

If you are here because your network is listed on the SPEWS database, then you will need to contact them to have the entry removed.

Since there is no known way to contact the spews database maintainers, you will have problems doing this.

Probably the easiest way is to fix the issue that they have listed you for, and then post to the Newsgroups known as NANAE.

The spews website is found at spews.org

It also contains way more information on spews, which may be of assistance.

The dnsbl.net.au system imports the database on a daily basis, from the sourceforge site.
http://spfilter.sourceforge.net/data/

Normally inserted into the SPEWS database as either a /24 (Class C) network, or a single server host /32.
